Peace pillar/A scented summer evening

A scented summer evening

(Bluebell woods)

A scented summer evening

makes sure believing in.

The sun retreating with his train

still warm upon my shoulders,

your kiss is still warm upon my cheek,

what is that? a promise? for tomorrow’s caring,

a sweet rememberance of

our day together, love’s true sharing.

*

Why muse upon the shadows?

are they not cast in prose.

Whether morning or evening

their length and breadth are just the same,

but they are turned, their direction changed,

could it be? your perception is altered.

Love that was there in the morn

now that night draws on, has not faltered.

*

And shall my days have sunshine?

will no shadows be mine ?

perhaps in the noon-time it is so

but that is the heat of the day,

no time then to reflect nor forward look,

with the cares of the day and with toil a’spoiling.

The morning and the evening

are the times to hear songbird’s joyling.

*

Lay back your head and be glad.

Lovely summer’s day we had,

let’s collect the fruits of the day

into the apron of our thoughts.

Today and yesterday are in keeping

what will be ours in the near or far off future

will be for another day

together we shall gather and treasure

PILLAR OF PEACE

I am the pillar of peace, your hopes

the veil that would hide is not solid

nor the sky brass that there’s no way through

or are all hearts bound as with ropes?

*

My pillar of peace just is the promise

the gift itself all transcendent

why don’t you see that? what makes men so blind?

the clouds of your minds make amiss

*

Come all you children into the light

but you’ll have to crowd together

my rejoicing is roundness, no-one first

this will not be achieved by might

*

I pour me down, my promise is for you

why stand you afar off gazing?

if the token only carries such hope

what will the reality endue?

*

They who have seen my pillar of peace

have I not broken through the storm?

I’m calling to you the people, come

bathe in my fountain, anger cease.

  3. Hi HeLL, is it evening now I wonder where you are? it’s a bright but fresh morning in England.
Scented summer is quite a clumsy poem and one day I will sit down and revise it but that line will stay. Your english is pretty good. stay sweet now. Suz

Pillar of Peace is already a masterpiece — no one should ever doubt this statement.

A Scented Summer Evening has a very wonderful closing.

Would you please bring these two upfront? I mean … in a post or two at Yack home page; they should score great!
