    Um I’m using the comment box because I haven’t got the hang of adding text to a picture page, at any rate this is my lovely home city of Winchester Hampshire once capital of Saxon Wessex and the residence of all the Saxon kings before the Norman conquest, William the conqueror was the last king to be crowned here. London overtook Winchester in size and importance during the 11th century, I added captions to most of the pics but ??
    The one building notable for it’s absence is Winchester cathedral. I will get one up later.

    I’ve never been to winchester. Am not even sure (looks ashamed) that I know where it is! I will have to find out and go there one weekend.
